Issues like paper jams, connection issues, printing issues, etc, are common for Panasonic printers. But, over time, they face some other issues as well. These can be related to the internal damage of the printer. The printer’s display can also show these errors, which you should understand and resolve immediately. Some of the most common problems are faded or misaligned prints, fuser unit errors, etc. Let’s check the issues with their solutions. 

Error 1: Faded or Misaligned Prints

Sometimes, your Panasonic printer can print faded or misaligned prints due to low ink levels. Hence, when your printer is printing low-quality prints, you should check the ink levels on the printer and refill the empty ink. 

Solution: Check the Ink Levels

Low ink levels are also a big reason for poor-quality prints. Hence, you must check if the ink levels are getting low. Check out the following steps to determine the ink levels. 

1. Ensure that your printer is turned on. Then, go to its Menu or Function button. 
2. Then, navigate to the Reports/Status/Supplies Info according to your Panasonic printer model. 
3. Now, select the “Toner levels” or “Supply Status”. 
4. After that, the printer will show the ink levels. Check which ink is low and refill it. 

Your printer can also print a report showing the levels of all the inks. You can also check the ink levels through this report. 

How Will You Refill the Ink in the Panasonic Printer?

Step 1: Turn Off the Printer

1. Press and hold the power button on the printer to turn it off, and let the light turn off. 
2. Then, disconnect the printer’s power cord from the power switch on the wall. 

Step 2: Open the Printer’s Front Cover

In this step, you need to open the printer’s front cover to check the ink toner cartridge. The front cover is usually located at the top or at the front of the Panasonic printer. You can check your printer’s manual if you don’t know where it is. To open it, gently pull the cover towards you. After that, you’ll see what’s inside. 

Step 3: Take Out the Ink Toner Cartridge

Check the ink toner cartridges arranged in a series. You know which toner is running low from the printer’s report. So, take out that cartridge by checking the color label on it. Now, keep that cartridge on a clean surface. 

Step 4: Prepare the Ink Toner

In this step, shake a new ink toner well before using it. Once you shake it well, it is ready to be poured into the ink cartridge. 

Step 5: Check for the Refill Hole

The ink cartridges of the Panasonic printer have a refill hole through which you can pour the ink. 

1. Check for that hole on the toner cartridge. It may have a small plastic cap on it, which you need to remove. 
2. After that, take a small funnel and slowly pour the ink into it. 

Fill it completely, but make sure that you don’t overfill it.

Step 6: Close the Hole

If you have removed the plastic cover, fix it again on the hole in the ink toner cartridge. 

Step 7: Close the Printer’s Front Cover

Since you have opened the printer’s front cover to refill the ink toner, you should now close this cover. To close it, gently push it towards its place. 

Step 8: Turn On the Printer

1. Replug the printer’s power cable into the power outlet on the wall. 
2. Then, press and hold the power button on the printer to turn it on. 

Error 2: Drum Unit Error

Your Panasonic printer can show a “Replace drum” or “Drum end” error on the display when its drum unit is damaged. A drum unit is an internal part of the printer that receives the image or text and then transfers it onto a document using ink toner. In short, this unit is crucial for a Panasonic printer to print. If you see this error, follow the given troubleshooting steps. 

Solution: Replace the Drum Unit

When you see the “Replace drum” error message, it shows that the drum unit in your printer is damaged. You should replace it using the steps given below: 

Step 1: Turn Off the Printer

1. Press the power button on the Panasonic printer to turn it off, and let the lights turn off. 
2. Then, disconnect the printer’s power cable from the power outlet on the wall. 

Step 2: Open the Printer’s Front Cover

The front cover of the Panasonic printer is located on the top or the bottom front of the printer. Gently pull this cover towards you to open it. 

Step 3: Remove the Drum Unit and Toner

The drum unit is a rectangular tray that holds the toner. You need to remove the whole unit. It has a handle to open. So, gently take out that unit. The toners can spill the ink, so keep the unit on a clean surface with some paper beneath it. 

Step 4: Release the Toners From the Drum Unit

Then, remove the toners from the unit. To release them, there is a latch or clip. So, you just need to gently press the latch to take out the toners. 

Step 5: Prepare a New Drum Unit

You need to purchase a drum unit for your Panasonic printer model. Now, unbox it and prepare it to be put into the printer. 

Step 6: Put the Toners Into the New Drum Unit

In this step, you need to place the toners into the drum unit. Gently slide the toners into their slots and let them fit properly. There should be a clicking sound when they fit into their slots. 

Step 7: Install the New Drum Unit in the Printer

Now, place the whole drum unit into the printer. Ensure that the unit fits properly. 

Step 8: Close the Printer’s Front Cover

Once the drum unit is installed properly, you need to close the printer’s front cover by gently pushing it into place. 

Step 9: Turn On the Printer

1. Reconnect the printer’s power cable to the power outlet on the wall. 
2. Press the power button on the printer to turn it on and let the lights turn on. 

Before replacing the whole drum unit, you can try to remove and reinstall the old unit. This method is good for saving money and effort. However, if the printer still shows this error, you should replace the drum unit completely.
