Panasonic Printer in error state


A printer in error state means that something is wrong with the printer. It can happen due to a number of reasons, such as the printer not being turned on, insufficient paper in the paper tray, etc. In such a case, your printer won’t print when you send a document and shows the “printer in error state” message. Is Your Panasonic Printer Turned On?

First, check if your printer is turned on from the main power switch on the wall outlet. Sometimes, when your printer is not turned on, the “printer in error state” appears on the computer under the Printers & Scanners section. 

 

Yes: If the printer is turned on, there must be something else bothering the printer. 

No: Turn it on and ensure that its power cable is well connected to the power outlet. If the wire is loosely connected, remove it and plug it in again tightly. 

Does the Printer Have Enough Paper?

Check your printer’s paper tray, which is located at the front bottom of your Panasonic printer. Then, check if the tray has enough paper for your printing requirement. 


Yes: Move on to the next troubleshooting method. 

No: Fill the papers into your printer and then try printing again. Then, check if the error disappears. 

Basic Troubleshooting 

Fix 1: Restart Everything (Printer & Computer)

Computer: 

 

  1. Click the Windows icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom left. 
  2. Then, click the Power icon and click the Restart option. 

Printer: 

 

  1. Press and hold the power button on the Panasonic printer. 
  2. Then, disconnect the printer’s power cables from the power outlet on the wall. 
  3. Wait for a minute and then reconnect the power cables to the power outlet on the wall. 
  4. Finally, press the power button on the front of the Panasonic printer. 

Fix 2: Run the Troubleshooter on Windows 

If your printer is in an error state, you can run the troubleshooter on your computer to fix this error. Windows Troubleshooter is a feature on your computer that detects problems within the computer or the devices connected to it. So, check out how to run this feature. 

 

  1. To begin, click the Windows icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom left. 
  2. Then, search for the Troubleshooting Settings in the search bar. 
  3. Now, click the Other Troubleshooters option on the right side of the screen. 
  4. Then, you will see a list of devices on the screen. Click the Run button next to the Printer option. 

Next, let your computer detect the problem with the printer, and then it will fix it automatically. If this method doesn’t work for your Panasonic printer, you can follow the advanced methods. 

Advanced Troubleshooting 

Fix 1: Set the Panasonic Printer Online 

When your printer is set offline on your computer, it will show your printer in an error state. Therefore, check if your printer is set as offline. If yes, set it online immediately. 

 

  1. Click the Start icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom left. 
  2. Then, search for the Printers & Scanners option. Select it and open it. 
  3. Now, locate your printer from the list of devices and right-click on it. 
  4. After that, select the “See what’s printing” option. 
  5. Select the Printer option at the top of the next window.
  6. In the next step, you will find the Use Printer Offline option. If it is selected, deselect it. 

This is how you can disable the “Use Printer offline” option and get the printer back online. This way, the printer will be released from the “printer in error state” problem. If this method doesn’t work for you, move on to the next method. 

Fix 2: Clear the Print Queue 

When your printer has too many pending print commands, it can lead to an error such as “printer in error state.” Now, check how to clear it: 

 

  1. First of all, click the Start icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom left. 
  2. Then, search for the Printers & Scanners option and open it. 
  3. Locate your Panasonic printer on the screen and select the Open Queue option. 
  4. Next, right-click on each document and click Cancel. 
  5. If a message appears to confirm the cancellation, click Yes.
