Tally Printer Issue

If your Tally printer is not responding to print jobs, prints slowly, or printed documents are misaligned or faded, it might be due to a blockage in the print head or empty ink cartridges.

Let’s go through the common Tally printer issues and their solutions.

Issue 1: Blurred or Faint Prints

If your printer is delivering blurry prints, random texts, or misaligned prints, it’s a sign of blockage in the print head. You must clean the print heads to fix this issue.

Solution:

  1. Go to the Start menu on your computer, search for the Control Panel option, and open it.
  2. Under the Control Panel, click the Devices and Printers option, and select your Tally printer.
  3. Now, right-click on it and select Printer Properties.
  4. From the Print Quality Tools, click the Clean Printhead option.

Now, your printhead will start cleaning automatically, and the process will take only five minutes. Once this process is over, try printing again with your Tally printer.

Issue 2: Printer Showing Low Ink Levels

When the ink levels are low in your printer, it will not print high-quality documents. You will also see some error codes on the printer’s display about low ink levels. In this case, your printer’s ink cartridge, which stores the ink, needs to be replaced.

Solution:

  1. Stop working on your printer and press its power button at the front to turn it off.
  2. Then, remove its power cable from the power switch on the wall.
  3. Now, open the access door on the printer, usually located at the front or rear. If you can’t find it on your printer, please check your printer manual.
  4. After that, release the empty cartridge by pressing it a little bit and pulling it out. (Note: You can check by shaking the cartridge to see if it is empty or filled.)
  5. Take the new cartridge and check if it’s the same color as the empty cartridge. You can also check any other signs, such as labels, to ensure the right slot for your cartridge.
  6. Once you are done, close the access door by gently pushing it back.

If multiple cartridges are empty, replace them similarly. Once you are done with the replacement, you can start printing.

A Tally printer shows what it needs by showing some warning signs on its display, such as printing slowly or not printing at all. If you are experiencing these problems, you can clean the print head and replace the ink cartridges.

FAQs

How Do I Check Which Cartridge Is Running Out?

Generally, Tally printers display a warning message on the control panel about low ink cartridge levels. Otherwise, you will see an indicator on the printer, which is the lights that show the status of ink levels. However, these levels are not accurate, but they provide an estimated result. Moreover, you can also check it by shaking the cartridge.

Your Tally printer can show a range of problems, including connection issues, poor print quality, paper jams, low ink levels, blurry prints, and not printing. Your printer may be unable to connect to the WiFi network or show some other problem in the form of error codes on its screen.

If your printer is showing some errors, you can do many things to get it back to normal. For instance, you can verify its connection and ink levels and replace the ink cartridges if needed. Plus, if you are getting delayed or misaligned printing, you can clean the print head, which sprinkles the ink on your documents.
