Tally Printer not connecting to wifi


Most of the time, the wireless method is easy in order to connect the printer to the system. However, sometimes you struggle to connect them due to some physical or software issue. If you are dealing with Tally Printer not connecting to Wi-Fi, read the causes below and their solutions.

Below is a list of reasons why the wireless connection issue can happen.

  • The printer is not getting signals because of its location.
  • The system has corrupted or outdated printer software.
  • A firewall or antivirus may be obstructing the printer's function.
  • An outdated or incompatible router firmware.

Solutions to Fix the Tally Printer Wireless Connection Issue:

 

Solution 1: Update Printer Driver and Firmware

  • Using the web browser, search for your printer driver and firmware.
  • Visit the Tally printer's official site and navigate to the Download page.
  • Search for your printer model driver and download the latest driver and firmware.
  • Ensure you download the most compatible version of the printer software for your operating system.
  • Once you get the software on the system, install it on the system and try to reconnect your wireless printer to the system.

Solution 2: Remove and Reconnect the Wireless Printer

  • On the Windows system, click Start and move to Settings.
  • Choose Devices and then select Printers and Scanner from the side panel.
  • Tap on your Tally printer and then hit the "Remove Device" button.
  • Click on "Add printers and scanners" and then add your printer.

Solution 3: Change the Dynamic Printer's IP Address to Static

  • First, open the Internet browser and type the router's IP address.
  • Then, enter the credentials (username and password).
  • Search for the router's DHCP option and find the DHCP clients list
  • After that, copy the IP address of the printer and the system
  • Navigate to the DHCP reservation menu and paste the copied information.
  • Finally, save the modified settings and finish the step.

Solution 4: Run the Printer Troubleshooter on the System

  • First, tap Start and then click on the Settings gear icon.
  • Then, click Devices on the Settings window and choose Printers and Scanners.
  • Tap "Run the troubleshooter" on the right hand of the Printers and Scanner window.
  • When asked, "Which printer would you like to troubleshoot, "select your printer.
  • If you cannot see your printer, choose "My printer is not listed."
  • Follow the prompts on-screen instructions to detect and troubleshoot the printer issue.

Solution 5: Check the Router And the Network Settings

  • Using the Internet browser, open the router's settings and enter its credentials.
  • Locate the Security or Wireless section and set every option to default.
  • Visit the Mac address filtering, turn it off, and verify the device connection limit.
  • Increase the limit of the attached devices to the router. And go to the Wireless Settings.
  • In the WLAN Advances Settings section, set the Channel value as 1, 6, or 11.

Solution 6: Allow the Tally Printer through the Firewall

  • First, tap the Start button and write firewall in the search bar.
  • Then, choose the "Firewall & Network Protection" option.
  • After that, tap "Allow an app through firewall" in the firewall window.
  • On the next window, click the "Change Settings" button.
  • Checkmark the "File and Printer Sharing" option and other printer-related programs.
  • Finally, click OK, and if the problem persists, switch off the firewall temporarily.

Solution 7: Reset the Router to Default Settings

  • Locate the Router reset button and press it with a paper clip.
  • Hold the button for 30 seconds and leave it. The router will turn on again with default settings.
  • Now, go to the router's web interface and set it up to connect it to the device.

Solution 8: Delete the Reinstall the Printer Software

  • From the Start option, visit the Settings window.
  • Select the Apps option and move down to the screen to locate the printer driver.
  • Tap to view the uninstall option and click the Uninstall button.
  • Restart the system and open the browser to the system.
  • Now, go to the Google website and search for the Tally driver.
  • Open the manufacturer's official site and then enter your printer model.
  • Download the Tally printer software on the system and install it.

Why printer does not connect to the wireless network?

When the printer does not connect to Wi-Fi, there can be many reasons behind it. Some of them are- multiple printers attached to the router, VPN or proxy connection, third-party software blocking the printer from functioning, incompatible printer software, outdated firmware, etc.

For this, keep the printer close to the router and also ensure that the printer tray is loaded with enough paper. Tap the Setup or Wireless icon and choose Settings/Network Setup. After that, choose "Restore Network Settings" and note the Wi-Fi name and password. Now, select the "Wireless Setup Wizard" option and choose the network name. Enter the password and let the printer connect to the router. Now, print a Wi-Fi test report and review the details on to report to find and troubleshoot the problem.

First, go to the Wi-Fi Network Settings and then "Restore Network Defaults." Again, go to the Network Settings and select the "Wi-Fi Protected Setup." Choose the "Push Button" and then click Start. The WPS Setup process must complete within 2 minutes. Now, press the router's WPS button and hold it for 5 seconds. Check the Wi-Fi light on the printer. If the Wi-Fi light stops blinking, the setup will be successful.
