HP Printer Job Stuck In Queue

Is your HP printer not accepting the command you have sent from the computer? The print job has failed and is now stuck in the queue. You have tried deleting or cancelling the print job, but nothing is working. This problem later prevents further print jobs from printing. Whenever you encounter the HP printer Job stuck in queue error, you may receive an error message such as, “Not enough printer memory available to print page.”

Choosing the right printer is crucial for office or personal use that meets your entire printing needs. Efficiency, productivity, and outstanding output make a printer the best. HP is the most reliable and prestigious brand to provide a one-stop solution for all your printing tasks. This brand offers an endless number of features to its printers.

But what if your HP printer does not work? Are there any troubleshooting solutions? You may think that HP, being so powerful, still has a problem. HP printers are indeed great, no doubt. But it is also true that HP printers are machines, and each device faces some errors.

Causes of the HP Printer Job Stuck In Queue Issue

When an HP printer job gets stuck in a queue, this may be due to a slow memory setting. Some HP printer drivers are set to the lowest in their default memory settings. This power occurs because of sudden power outages, faulty connections, improper print configurations, etc. All of these can be the reason for the print job being stuck in a queue.

Solutions for the HP Printer Job Stuck In the Queue Problem

Once you know the exact cause, you apply the correct troubleshooting methods and resolve the problem at the earliest opportunity. Whatever the cause, resetting the printing environment lets you resolve the issue when the printer job gets stuck in the queue. You can apply the solutions below to reset the print settings and fix this common problem. Below are some of the helpful methods to solve the printer problem.

Solution 1: Verify Printer's IP Address in System Port Settings

Verify the IP address first. You must ensure the HP printer's IP is correctly mentioned in the Windows port setting. If not, you must modify it and set the correct HP printer IP address. Use the steps below to check the IP addresses.

  1. Select the HP printer icon, right-click on it, and choose “Printer Properties.” An HP properties window will appear.
  2. Under the Ports tab, click on the “Configure Port” button to open the Port Setting window on the system.
  3. Ensure the mentioned IP address in the “Printer Name or the IP Address” is the same as that of the HP printer.
  4. If both the IP addresses are not the same, type the correct IP address and click on the OK button.
  5. Finally, quit the Properties window and proceed to the next process steps for solving the HP printer job stuck in the queue error.

Solution 2: Delete All the Print Jobs Files from the System

When sending a print job to the HP printer, a file is created on the computer. Sometimes, these print jobs get corrupted and cause problems while printing the document. Deleting these jobs manually helps reset the printing environment and fix the problem. To delete the print jobs, the step-by-step instructions will help you out.

  1. Switch off the HP printer with the help of the power button and go to the computer screen.
  2. Open the Run window using Windows+R keys, type “services.msc” in the space available on the Run box, and hit Enter on the system keyboard.
  3. Right-click the Print Spooler option on the Services window and choose to Stop from the list.
  4. Close all open windows and open Windows Explorer to navigate to the “C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS” location.
  5. A list of files will appear in the Printer folder. Delete all of them and reboot your system.
  6. Switch on the HP printer and check if the issue has been resolved.

Solution 3: Reinstall the HP Print Driver on the System

When the above two solutions do not work, try using this third solution. You must remove the existing HP print driver from the system and install it again. The instructions below allow for reinstalling the HP printer driver and fixing the problem.

  1. First, disconnect the HP printer from the computer if connected using the USB cable.
  2. Open “Devices and Printers,” right-click on your HP printer icon, and choose “Remove Device.”
  3. The computer removes the HP printer driver, and once removed completely, restarts the computer.
  4. Visit “HP Support- Software & Drivers” from the HP official site to find and get the compatible HP printer driver.
  5. Follow the instructions and install the HP printer driver on your computer. Now, check if the HP printer job stuck in the queue issue is resolved or not.

If your HP printer job is stuck in queue and won’t delete, clearing the print spooler and reinstalling the driver usually solves the problem within minutes.
