Solution 1: Verify Printers IP Address in System Port Settings

Verify the IP address first. You must ensure the HP printer's IP is correctly mentioned in the Windows port setting. If not, you must modify it and set the correct HP printer IP address. Use the below steps to check the IP addresses. 

  • Select the HP printer icon, right-click on it and choose “Printer Properties.” An HP properties window will appear. 
  • Under the Ports tab, click on the “Configure Port” button to open the Port Setting window on the system. 
  • Ensure the mentioned IP address in the “Printer Name or the IP Address” is the same as that of the HP printer. 
  • If both the IP addresses are not the same, type the correct IP address and click on the OK button. 
  • Finally, quit the Properties window and proceed to the next process steps for solving the HP printer job stuck in queue error.

Solution 2: Delete All the Print Jobs Files from the System

When sending a print job to the HP printer, a file is created on the computer. Sometimes, these print jobs get corrupt and cause problems while printing the document. Deleting these jobs manually helps reset the printing environment and fix the problem. To delete the print jobs, below step-by-step instructions will help you out. 

  • Switch off the HP printer with the help of the power button and go to the computer screen. 
  • Open the Run window using Windows+R keys, type “services.msc” in the space available on the Run box, and hit Enter on the system keyboard. 
  • Right-click the Print Spooler option on the Services window and choose to Stop from the list. 
  • Close all open windows and open Windows Explorer to navigate to the “C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS” location. 
  • A list of files will appear in the Printer folder. Delete all of them and reboot your system. 
  • Switch on the HP printer and look if the issue has been resolved. 

Solution 3: Reinstall the HP Print Driver on the System

When the above two solutions do not work, try using this third solution. You must remove the existing HP print driver from the system and install it again. The below instructions allows reinstalling the HP printer driver and fixing the problem. 

  • First, disconnect the HP printer from the computer if connected using the USB cable. 
  • Open “Devices and Printers,” right-click on your HP printer icon, and choose “Remove Device.” 
  • The computer removes the HP printer driver, and once removed completely, restart the computer. 
  • Visit “HP Support- Software & Drivers” from the HP official site to find and get the compatible HP printer driver. 
  • Follow the instructions and install the HP printer driver on your computer. Now, check if the HP printer job stuck in queue issue is resolved or not.

Find the HP printer icon on the dock of the Mac system. Click on that HP printer icon and then click on the cross (x) icon on the print job you wish to remove.
