A print queue is a list of documents that are ready to be printed. When any of the documents get stuck in the print queue, they won’t print, and other pending documents will not print either. In this situation, the Samsung printer shows any of these errors: “Spooling,” “error printing,” “out of paper,” etc.
Usually, this error happens because:
- The printer doesn’t support the document file you sent.
- The print spooler service is not working.
- Samsung printer drivers are old or corrupted.
You can fix this problem with these easy solutions.
Step 1: Cancel All the Documents From the Queue
- To locate the print queue, search for Printers & Scanners from the taskbar.
- Open it and select your Samsung printer from the list of printers.
- Select Open print queue from the printer settings.
- Next, a print queue window will appear on the screen.
- Select the Cancel option from the drop-down menu to remove a document.
- Click Yes to confirm the removal of that print job.
If there are multiple print jobs, cancel them all using the same steps. Then, try printing again. If the printer still shows an error or the document doesn’t print, try the next step.
Step 2: Restart the Print Spooler Service
The print spooler service is the built-in program in the Windows PC that sends the print jobs to the printer. If it’s not working, the print jobs can get stuck, and nothing prints. Restart this program using the given steps.
- To access Print Spooler, press the Windows key, search, and open the Services option.
- Search for the Print Spooler feature by scrolling down.
- Right-click on it and select Properties.
- Select the Stop button to stop the Print Spooler on the Properties window.
- Click OK, wait for 2-3 seconds, and click the Start button.
Note: Ensure that the Startup type is selected as Automatic.
If you still can’t print, move on to the next step.
Step 3: Update the Samsung Printer Drivers
Download:
- Open a browser and search for Samsung printer drivers for your exact printer model (e.g., Samsung Xpress 5L-M2876 printer drivers).
- Then, open the official hp.com link from the search results. Don’t feel confused! HP now owns Samsung’s printer business.
- Click the Driver-product installation software and select the Basic Drivers option.
- Select the printer driver package and click the Download button next to it.
Let it download to your computer in the Downloads folder.
Install:
- Go to the Downloads folder on your computer.
- Then, double-click on the driver’s file.
- Click Yes when a prompt asks for permission to run this file, and the driver’s file will start installing.
Wait for them to install completely. This method will fix the error, and you’ll be able to print again.
