Toshiba Printer Code Errors and Messages

Toshiba printers sometimes show error messages on their screen when something isn’t working the way it should. These error messages are just the printer’s way of telling you what’s wrong. It could be something simple like a paper jam or low toner, or something that needs a little more attention, like a part that needs checking. These are the three most common Toshiba printer error messages.

Error Message 1: Paper Jam

When there is a paper jam in the Toshiba printer, it will show an error message on the screen. This error message means that the printer is failing to load the paper sheet correctly from the paper tray. This is how you can fix it.

Solution:

  1. When your printer shows you the paper jam error, it will also show you the location. Check the location (e.g., duplexer, document feeder, finisher, rear access door).
  2. Once you recognize the error and location, press and hold the power button on the printer to turn it off.
  3. Open the place where the paper jam is present. For instance, a document feeder. Usually, it is placed at the front of the printer.
  4. Check for any stuck papers or other objects in the paper path and remove them with your hands or tweezers.
  5. If there is a dirt buildup in the feeder, clean it with a damp cloth.
  6. Finally, close the document feeder by pushing it gently into place.
  7. Turn on the printer by pressing its power button at the front.

Error Message 2: Ink System Failure

Toshiba printers display the “Ink System Failure” error message when they fail to use the ink from the ink cartridge, often due to blockages.

Solution:

  1. Go to the Start menu on your computer and search for the Control Panel.
  2. Then, open the Control Panel and click the Hardware and Sound option.
  3. Now, click the Devices and Printers option and select Printers & Scanners.
  4. After that, select your printer and then select the Printer Properties option.
  5. Navigate to the Maintenance option under the printer properties
  6. Select the print head cleaning option to clean the print head automatically.

Now, the print head will start cleaning, and all the dirt will be removed from it. After that, check whether your printer is printing.

Error Message 3: Low Ink Levels

Your Toshiba printer can often show low ink levels as an error on its display. A low ink level is one of the common reasons for printing-related issues. If your printer is showing it, check the ink levels and refill it.

You need to replace the ink cartridges that contain ink. Therefore, you need to remove the empty cartridge from its slot and place the new cartridge.

Solution:

  1. To start, turn off the Toshiba printer by pressing the power button.
  2. Then, open the access door where these cartridges are placed. Usually, the access door is present at the top of the printer.
  3. Then, check the empty cartridge by shaking it or checking the ink levels on the printer’s control panel.
  4. Now, remove it from the slot by slowly pulling it.
  5. After that, prepare the new cartridge and slowly place it in the right slot. (Note: Put the cartridge in the right slot by checking the labels on the cartridge and the slot.)
  6. Now, push the cartridge back into its slot and close the access door.
  7. Turn on your printer by pressing the power button. A green light will flash.

FAQs

Why Does My Toshiba Printer Show Error Messages?

If your printer shows error messages or codes, it must be due to a connection issue, paper jams, outdated printer drivers, or insufficient ink levels. When the printer gets this issue, it stops responding to your print requests and shows error messages describing the issue, and sometimes the location too.

If your printer shows some error messages and codes, you must check for a paper jam. If you find anything in the paper tray, remove it gently with your hands. You can also clean the dirt buildup if you find the paper path dirty. Moreover, you can replace the ink cartridges to fix the low ink levels.

If your printer is not printing even when it is showing no error codes, you need to restart it and check its connection. Plus, check if your printer has sufficient ink and paper in the respective places. If you find anything insufficient, add it to your printer.
