Toshiba Printer Issue After Windows Update

Sometimes, after a Windows update, your printer might stop working the way it used to. It may not print at all, display an error on the screen, or go offline. This can be really frustrating for you if you don’t like dealing with tech issues.

This usually happens because the new Windows update changes printer drivers and some other printer related settings. Here are the basic and advanced troubleshooting steps to fix the Toshiba printer issue after Windows update. Follow them and your printer should start working in no time.

Basic Troubleshooting (For Beginners)

Step 1: Restart the Printer

  1. First, press and hold the power button on your printer to turn it off.
  2. Then, disconnect the printer’s power cord from the power supply.
  3. Now, wait for about 60 seconds and then reconnect the power cord to the power supply on the wall.
  4. Also, press and hold the power button again and turn on the printer.

Step 2: Restart the Computer

  1. Click the Start menu on the taskbar at the bottom.
  2. Select the round power button, and click the Restart option from the list of options.

After restarting your devices, you can try printing with your printer. If it doesn’t respond, try another method to resolve it.

Advanced Troubleshooting

If basic methods don’t fix your printer’s problem after a Windows update, you must follow the advanced steps.

Step 1: Roll Back the Windows Update

With this method, you can get the previous version on your computer to fix the issues with the printer.

  1. First of all, press the Windows and I keys on the keyboard to open the Start menu, and then search for the Settings option.
  2. Open the Settings option, click the Update & Security option, and then click the Recovery option on the left side of the screen.
  3. Hit the Get Started button under the Go back to the previous version screen of the computer.
  4. Next, select a reason for rolling back your Windows version.

Once you select to roll back your Windows version to the previous one, your computer will restart automatically.

Step 2: Run Troubleshooter on Windows Computer

The Windows system has a feature to troubleshoot common issues. If you start this feature, the system will begin diagnosing the issue and will soon rectify it automatically.

  1. First of all, click the Start menu and search for the Settings option.
  2. Then, search for the Troubleshooting settings in the search bar on the left side.
  3. Open the Troubleshoot settings and click the Other Troubleshooters option.
  4. Now, choose an option to start troubleshooting, such as Printer

Let the computer run the troubleshooting and fix the error automatically. You can also run the troubleshooting for multiple devices and features such as audio, network, internet, bluetooth, video player, etc.

Toshiba printer not responding after Windows update is a common issue. Such issues occur when your new Windows version is incompatible with the printer. You can easily resolve it by restarting your devices, running the troubleshooter on the Windows computer, and uninstalling the conflicting apps and software.
