OKI Printer Paper Jam Causes

These are the most common causes of paper jams in OKI printers. You can avoid these to prevent paper jams. 

• Misfeeding paper from a printer paper tray can lead to paper jams and can occur at any point. It will immediately stop the printer, and you will be able to know the issue from the control panel with the LCD window. 
• The issue can also arise due to the use of paper with wrong dimensions or an incorrect method of inserting the paper into the printer.
• Excessive humidity leading to swelling of papers or damage in the roller or any other related parts can also lead to a jam in the printer.
• Using low-quality ink or toner cartridges can cause incompatibility with the printer.

How To Fix Printer Paper Jam? 

There are some easy fixes, and some are a little difficult, but they all are working fixes and may even resolve your issue. Let’s get started with the easy ones. 

1. Check whether the drivers installed are correct and compatible with the printer model you are using. 
2. You can also look out for connectivity problems, as a weak connection can also cause jams in the printer. 
3. Irregular maintenance of the printer is also a factor that can cause more than just printer jams. 

Now, let’s move on to a slightly more tedious solution, which would require some time to fix the jam. 

• Remove the sheet (if any) which is advancing out of the printer by gently pulling it out. There is no need to use excess force if it does not come out easily, as you can remove it from the rear later. 
• Once it is done, open the printer’s top by pressing the cover release. Also, note that if the printer is on, then the fuser will be hot, and you will also see a label saying, “Do not touch”. 
• Now, remove the image drums to access the paper path. The image drum you have to remove is the one closest to the control panel of the printer. Remove it by holding its top center completely with the toner cartridge and get it out of the printer. 
• Now put the cartridge down gently on a piece of paper and repeat the process for each image drum one by one. 
• Now check whether sheets of paper or belt unit part is visible and remove the sheet from any area of the printer you find. 
•  Replace the image drums back in the order you got them out of the printer. Check the rear exit tray and see if there is any sheet in that area. 
• Pull out all the sheets you find and close the area. Also, if your printer has a duplex unit, then check that as well and remove the sheets in that as well. 
• Now, pull out the paper and check for damages or any other issues that there can be. Once you check it thoroughly, place it right back and close the cover. 

Once the jam is cleared, the printer will start printing the pages that were lost due to the problem if it is set to Jam Recovery.
