XEROX Printer Job Stuck In Queue

A print job stuck in the queue means your Xerox printer has several print jobs and one of them is not printing, preventing others from processing as well. When this error occurs on your Xerox printer, it shows one of these errors on its display, “out of paper,” “spooling,” or “error printing.” Fortunately, we can solve it within 20 minutes by following the correct steps as mentioned below in the same order.

First 5 Minutes: Reboot Everything (Printer and Computer)

Printer:

  1. Press the power button on the Xerox printer to turn it off, and let the lights turn off.
  2. Disconnect the printer’s power cord from the power outlet on the wall.
  3. Wait for one minute and reconnect the power cable.
  4. Press the power button on the printer to turn it on and let the lights turn on.

Computer:

  1. First, click the Windows icon and click the power button.
  2. Then, click the Restart button from the menu.

Let the devices reboot, and then try printing again.

After 5 Minutes: Cancel the Pending Print Jobs

When you overburden your Xerox printer with too many print jobs, you need to cancel some. Due to an overburdened print queue, the printer will not process your printing, leading to the print job being stuck in a queue. Let’s check how you can cancel all the unwanted print jobs.

  1. Click the Windows icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Then, search for the Printers and Scanners option.
  3. When you see this option in the results, select it and open it.
  4. Select your Xerox printer from the list of devices that appear on the screen.
  5. Now, click the Open Print Queue option, and then all the printing files will appear.
  6. Right-click on them one by one, and click the Cancel or Delete option.

This is how you’ll delete all the pending print jobs from the printer and make your printer print again.

After 10 Minutes: Restart the Print Spooler

The print spooler is a feature on a Windows computer that manages the printing-related tasks. If there is an issue with this feature, your printer won’t print and will show some error messages. In order to fix the stuck print job, check out the steps below.

  1. Start by clicking the Windows icon at the bottom of your PC screen.
  2. Then, search for the Services option.
  3. Open Services and navigate to the Print Spooler option by scrolling down.
  4. Once you see the Print Spooler option, right-click on it.
  5. Next, select the Restart option.

After 15 Minutes: Check for the Windows Update

When your Windows computer is not updated, your printer can be unresponsive to printing tasks. Hence, check if your Windows computer needs an update. Follow the steps below to update your Windows:

  1. Click the Windows icon on your Windows computer’s taskbar at the bottom left.
  2. Then, search for the Settings in the search bar. Open that option.
  3. Now, click the Windows Update option on the left sidebar at the bottom.
  4. Check for any updates that are available. Allow your computer to update if there is an update available.

These are the complete solutions for the print job stuck in the queue error. Follow all these solutions to get the Xerox printer out of trouble.
