Fujitsu Printer Paper Jam

A paper jam in the printer can occur when paper or material gets stuck in the printer and prevents it from printing. Usually, this error occurs due to an overloaded paper tray.

These are some signs of a paper jam in your printer:

  • The printer suddenly stops printing.
  • Your printer shows error messages on its control panel.
  • The light on the printer starts blinking.

Check out the most common reasons behind a paper jam in your printer:

  • The wrong paper type installed in the printer.
  • An overloaded paper tray.
  • Dirt and dust buildup on the feed rollers.
  • Printer hardware issues.

A paper jam can also be triggered by a stuck object in the paper tray, which could be a paper or packaging material that has accidentally stuck there. Here are the ways to rectify this error and start the printing process once again.

Fix 1: Check the Paper Tray for Any Barriers

When your printer has a paper jam, you should first check the paper tray for any barriers. Even a small object can trigger a paper jam.

  1. Open the paper tray by gently lifting it.
  2. Check if the papers are aligned properly or if they are folded or bent; if so, remove those papers.
  3. Use a flashlight to check for any other obstructions.
  4. Check the feed rollers; if they are dirty, clean them with a damp cloth.

This is the primary method to clear the paper jam. But if the issue persists, check the next method.

Fix 2: Update Your Printer Firmware

When the printer drivers or firmware of your Fujitsu printer are not updated, a paper jam may occur. Hence, you should keep them updated to the latest version.

Step 1: Download the Latest Firmware

  1. Go to your internet browser and visit ‘fujitsu.com/us/support.
  2. Select the Printers button on that page.
  3. Head to the Downloads section and click on Downloads.
  4. Click the Printer Driver and Software option.
  5. The next screen will display a file; download it.

Step 2: Install the Downloaded Firmware

  1. After downloading the firmware, move on to the Downloads folder on your computer.
  2. Then, double-click the downloaded file and extract it in the same folder.
  3. Open the extracted folder and find an application named Setup and double-click on it to start the firmware installation.
  4. Click Next or OK, if prompted, and your PC will complete the installation.
  5. Updating firmware can resolve the paper jam error. But if it doesn’t, move on to the next method.

Fix 3: Clear the Print Queue

When there are many pending print jobs, the print queue will become overloaded and will not process printing. In this condition, clearing the print queue is the right solution.

  1. Click the Windows Start button, search Control Panel using the search box and open it.
  2. Click Hardware and Sound, and then click Devices and Printers
  3. Now, select your Fujitsu printer, right-click on it, and click See What’s Printing
  4. Then, a list of documents will appear; select all the print jobs and click the “Cancel All Documents” option.

That’s how you can fix the paper jam error on your Fujitsu printer. A paper jam can be triggered by many reasons, including misaligned or wrong paper type, outdated printer drivers, firmware, etc.

FAQs

How do you clean the rollers on a Fujitsu scanner?

It is necessary to clean the roller if you are facing the Fujitsu printer paper jam issue. To do that, you need to open the cover of the machine and then take a clean cloth (or tissue paper) to clean the roller. While cleaning the roller, make sure to clean it very carefully and gently. Once the clearing process is complete, put the machine’s cover back in its place.

Facing a jammed scanner is quite frustrating and can lead to more significant issues with the printer. So, to fix the jammed scanner, you need to press the power button on the printer for a few seconds, which will result in running the motors.
