Tally Printer Job Stuck In Queue

You sent a print job to your printer, but it’s not processing. This is a sign of a print job stuck in a queue. It happens when the printer is unable to print due to overloading of the print queue.

These are some signs of a print job stuck in the queue:

  • The printer is not printing a print request.
  • Your printer’s control panel is showing some error codes and messages.
  • Your print job remains in the print queue even when you delete it.

Your print job may become stuck in the print queue if the printer is not properly connected to the internet or has faulty cables. Here are a few methods that will help you resolve this issue, and you’ll be all ready to print again.

Method 1: Delete the Print Jobs

Usually, your print job gets stuck in the queue due to an overloaded print queue. Hence, you have to delete these print jobs to resolve the issue.

  1. First, click the Windows Start button and search for the "Devices and Printers" option.
  2. Then, a new window will appear with your Tally printer in the list. Right-click on your printer.
  3. Now, click the Printer option on the new window.
  4. After that, select all the pending print jobs and click the Cancel All Documents option.
  5. Lastly, select Yes when the confirmation box appears.

As you click this option, all the pending print jobs from your Tally printer will be deleted immediately. Once you do this, you’ll be able to print again. However, if this option doesn’t fix your issue, move on to the next method.

Method 2: Restart Print Spooler Service

The print spooler service is a feature in your computer that manages all the print jobs you send to the printer. If there is a fault in this feature, your print job will not be processed. Therefore, you need to restart this using these steps.

  1. First of all, click the Windows Start button and search for Command Prompt
  2. Then, right-click on the Command Prompt when it appears and select Run as administrator
  3. Copy and paste Net Stop Spooler prompt on the Administrator window and press Enter. It will stop the Print Spooler service.
  4. Once done, paste del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q prompt in the command window and press Enter
  5. Finally, go to the Start button on your computer’s taskbar, click the power button, and select Restart

Your computer will restart to implement the changes you have made. This method is very effective in fixing the problems related to the print queue. This issue is a very common one, but if you keep your print queue clean and maintained, you’re unlikely to experience this.
