A paper jam error in the Samsung printer shows that a sheet of paper is stuck inside. It blocks the paper path and stops the printer from printing. During a paper jam, the printer displays the specific location where it occurred, such as the paper tray, rear tray, or exit area. So you can fix the issue in the affected area. Here are the common paper jam types and their solutions. 

Error 1: Paper Jam in Tray 1 

The Samsung printer will show it on its LCD screen. This indicates that the error occurred in the paper tray. It usually occurs when you overload the paper tray or the papers are not correctly aligned inside the tray. So, you need to check the paper tray to remove a paper jam. Here is how to do it: 

Solution: 

1. First, power off the printer by pressing its power button at the front. 
2. Then, pull the paper tray out like a drawer and place it aside. 
3. Check inside the printer, and remove any stuck paper slowly. 
4. You should also open the front cover and check if there are more papers stuck. 
5. Close the front cover after removing the paper. 
6. If the paper tray is dirty, clean it using a damp cloth.
7. Place the paper tray back into the slot by gently pushing it inside. 

Ensure that the papers in the tray are not folded or crumpled. At the end, the printer will automatically turn on and print a test page. If not, you can manually turn it on by pressing the power button. 

Error 2: Paper Jam Inside Machine

This is another type of paper jam that a Samsung printer displays. It occurs when the paper tray is not loaded properly. But, it is easy to fix with the troubleshooting steps given below: 

Solution: 

1. Start by turning off your Samsung printer by pressing its power button. 
2. Then, pull out the paper tray from the front bottom of the printer. 
3. Keep aside the paper tray and also open the front cover of the printer gently. 
4. Next, remove the toner cartridge, which is a large rectangular component. 
5. Remove the stuck paper from that location slowly. 
6. Once the jammed paper is removed from the front cover, place the toner cartridge as it is. 
7. Then, close the front cover and place the paper tray back in the slot. 
8. Finally, your Samsung printer will turn on automatically to print a test page. 

You’ll notice that the error message is cleared from the Samsung printer’s LCD screen. Now, you can start printing normally. 

Error 3: Paper Jam in Exit Area

This paper jam error happens at the final stage of printing when the paper is about to exit from the output tray. It occurs due to an issue in the fuser unit right before the paper leaves for printing. The fuser unit basically works by heating the toner and transferring it onto the paper. Fortunately, you can fix this issue by using simple steps. 

Solution: 

1. Power off the printer by pressing its power button. Note that the fuser unit area is very hot, and you may hurt yourself. That’s why let the printer cool down for 10-15 minutes. 
2. In most Samsung printers, the fuser unit is located at the back. So, open the back cover gently.  
3. Check if any paper is stuck inside. If yes, slowly pull the paper out. 
4. Now, you can close the back cover. 
5. Take the paper tray out from the front and check if there are mixed paper types. 
6. If yes, ensure that you put a similar paper type and size in the paper tray. 

Finally, the paper jam in your Samsung printer’s exit area is fixed. You can try printing again.
