A Samsung printer can display error codes and messages as a sign that there is a problem in the printer. Whether it's a connection issue or an internal part of the printer is damaged, the printer shows everything through an error message. You have to recognize it and fix the issue. For instance, when the ink levels are low in the printer, it shows a “low toner or empty cartridge” error message. Similarly, if any of its parts are affected, it will display the name of that part with an error. The printer can stop printing completely or yield low-quality prints. But you can fix these problems on your printer by following the right steps.
Error 1: No Paper Error
As the name suggests, this error means that the Samsung printer doesn’t have paper loaded. Even if your printer has paper, it can show this error. This happens when:
- The loaded papers are of the wrong type and size.
- The paper detection sensors are dirty.
- Papers are loaded incorrectly.
However, you can fix this issue and get your printer back to normal by using the following methods.
Method 1: Check and Reload the Paper Tray
When the printer is showing a problem with the papers, you must check the paper tray and reload it using the following procedure:
Note: Before proceeding with this method, turn off your printer by pressing its power button and disconnect its power cable from the power switch.
- Open the paper tray like a drawer, which is located at the bottom front.
- Then, check if the papers are loaded correctly and if they are of the same type (A4 or Letter).
- Ensure that the paper tray is not overfilled. Check the arrow sign on the paper tray. The papers shouldn’t cross this sign.
- Make sure that none of the paper is wrinkled or crumpled.
- Align the papers in the paper tray again.
- Close the paper tray by slowly pushing it in.
Method 2: Clean the Paper Sensors
When the paper sensors, which hold the paper and send it for printing, are dirty, the “No Paper” error will happen. Therefore, you should clean these sensors using the steps below:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button and disconnecting its power cable from the power switch for safety.
- Then, remove the paper tray by gently pulling it towards you.
- Take out all the papers from it.
- Look inside the printer from where you have removed the paper tray.
- You’ll see small black sensors. Use a brush to clean them gently.
- Place the paper tray with the papers loaded into the printer.
- Turn on the printer and start printing again.
Error 2: Invalid Toner
An invalid toner error can occur when the ink toner in your Samsung printer is not genuine but from a third-party store. Therefore, you should check the ink toner inside your printer and ensure whether it's genuine or not.
Step 1: Turn Off the Samsung Printer
- Press the power button on the printer to turn it off.
- Remove the printer’s power cord from the power switch.
That’s how you can completely turn off the printer. This step is for your own safety from electricity because you’re going to touch the internal parts of the printer.
Step 2: Open the Printer’s Front Cover
The printer’s front cover is located at the bottom of the printer. Refer to your printer’s manual to find its location on your printer. Gently open this door to access the ink toners.
Step 3: Check the Ink Toners
When you open the printer’s front cover, you’ll see ink toners arranged in a series. Here are the steps to check them:
- Release the ink toner by slowly pulling it out of the slot.
- Then, check the Samsung logo and the printer model name on it.
- If it doesn’t match your printer model, it won’t work with your printer. So change it to the compatible one.
- If the toner doesn’t have the original Samsung logo or is missing, it's not a genuine toner.
If you find that your ink toner is not genuine, replace it with a new one. To replace it, you just need to put it in the slot.
Step 4: Close the Printer’s Front Cover
Once you’re done checking the printer’s ink toner, you can close the cover. To do it, gently push it into place.
Step 5: Turn On the Printer
- Replug the printer’s power cable to the power switch on the power outlet.
- Then, turn on the printer by pushing the power button on it.
When the lights on the printer start flashing, it’s completely turned on.
